My name is Elle. I am currently a second year law student at the University of Lincoln. My long term goal is to pursue a career as a solicitor. I chose to study law because I want change. Law is about the people and making a change for that particular person in mind. I want to make a difference on a personal level. To those that can't find their voice, to those who need support at night when they're feeling uneasy and to those who don't fully understand and so I try to help them understand. That is why I chose Law.

Hi, I am Gwendolyn Megan Jenkins, and I am a final year student at Cardiff University. I am continuing my studies at Cardiff University next year, securing my LPC. Having played rugby when I was younger, I was interested in the law within the sport and fascinated to explore it in detail as I aged. It is only when I got older and started my degree that I became passionate about the subject. I have a particular interest in my Family Law module as well as legal aid. Seeing the consequences of the cuts to legal aid, creating 'advice deserts', made me want to pursue a career path which enables me to help those in need.

My name is Chloe Khor and I am an LPC LLM graduate. I completed my LLB at the University of Liverpool, and subsequently completed the LPC at the University of Law in London. Initially, I studied law as I found it to be a useful and interesting subject which affects aspects of our everyday lives. I then decided to pursue it as a career as I wanted to use my knowledge to help advise others, particularly those who come from disadvantaged backgrounds. My interests are in family law, private client law and immigration law.

I’m currently an LPC LLM student at the University of Law. To me, law has always been about protection, protecting the individual, the families, the companies, the environment etc, an aspect which drew me into law, I knew I wanted to be part of that. As I learn more about law and through attendance of law talks I’m constantly learning about different types of law, from family law to sports law to IP law, my interests are wide and I’m excited about this potential experience.

I realised that I wanted to pursue a career in law at the age of 14 because I have always been fascinated with the way the law works and the way it really makes me think, not only during my studies but outside in the world too. I chose this degree because I wanted to gain insight into the legal systems and understand how the laws govern modern society. I’m Kiera, a part-time LPC(LLM) student studying at Cardiff University. I believe that legal services should not be beyond anyone’s reach and this has been my motivation to undertake pro-bono programs in the areas of family law and nursing care law. I feel like becoming a volunteer paralegal with The National Community Law Project is the ideal way to utilise my abilities and provide the public with an access to justice, a right that is continually becoming more infringed. As I work well with emotionally charged situations and thrive on client contact, my passion for family law has continuously grown and I hope to pursue this path in my future career. I also have an interest in the areas of employment law and private client.

Hi! I'm Rhiannon and I recently graduated from Northumbria University with my Masters in Law (including LPC). I currently work in-house as a legal assistant where I am required to work on a variety of matters relating to corporate and commercial law, litigation and IP. In my spare time, I enjoy focusing on human rights, particularly prisoner's rights and the abolishment of the death penalty.
I chose to pursue a career in law simply because I want to help make positive changes in people's lives! My next goals involve securing a training contract at a commercial law firm and qualifying as a US attorney.

My name is Alice Cooper and I am a first-year law student at the University of Bolton. I am a Sierra Leonean but spent majority of my life in Senegal where I attended an American curriculum style school and Ghana. My mother was actually the first person who said I would make a great lawyer because of my love for arguing and interest in politics. I chose to study law because I want to learn how laws are created and how they work. More than that I want to help create change in the world and help bring the justice system to those who need it. My interests are human rights and international law. I am still figuring out what my exact plans are next year and after graduation.

My name is Roshni Suresh Babu, and I am a first-year law student at Durham University. I am an Indian who was raised in the UAE. I chose to study law upon my work placement at a judicial non-profit organization, which worked to empower vulnerable people through knowledge of their basic rights. This experience helped me realize the importance of the law in society, and the need to be aware of it and spread that awareness. I hope to be able to do just that through my work at the Community Law Project. My goal is to become a commercial solicitor at a leading international firm.

I am a disabled person, who has heard from doctors twice that not will win. I won. Due to this, I never give up, I give 110% of myself. Moreover, I can work under time pressure. Why Criminal Law? I would like to help people. All people deserve for chance, even if they done bad things. My main interest is criminal law. Hello there! My name is Brian Tan Yee and I am a final year law student from the University of Hertfordshire. After finishing my LLB degree, I am looking to become a qualified solicitor by pursuing an LLM/LPC degree. However, my career ambitions stretch far beyond that as I also intend to become a Barrister in the future. I am also very interested in law enforcement and thus, I aspire to join the police force and possibly, the National Crime Agency.
I first chose to study law because I had a childish but idealistic belief to rid corruption from society, in particular, the political and legal circles. My interest in law is now driven by my past experiences in the education sector as a teacher assistant and Sunday School teacher and also from learning about the increasing number of cases of paedophilia and child abuse from the news. My desire to wage war on such crimes against children fuels my fascination with Family Law and Criminal Law.

My name is Cristina Niculae and I am a senior LLB student at The Hague University of Applied Sciences. For as long as I can remember, justice and fairness have always been my guiding values. My interest in law started as a compelling desire to right the wrongs I witnessed as a result of growing up in a corrupt country. Currently I am studying International and European Law. In my third year, I followed a specialisation in International Humanitarian and Criminal Law. Recently I completed my undergraduate dissertation, where I discussed the possibility of creating Ecocide as a crime against the environment under the Rome Statute of the ICC. This opportunity allowed me to develop a keen interest in both Environmental and Criminal law. Other areas of interest include Human Rights and Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanisms. Nonetheless, I am looking forward to gaining more insight and practical legal experience in any field of law. Finally, I am very eager to make a positive contribution within the Community Law Project!
Amna Shafique

My name is Amna Shafique, and I am currently a LLB student at Aston University. I hope by the end of my Law degree, I can start my professional journey through helping the vulnerable and achieving justice by using my platform and resources. Prior to my interest in law began I admired the work of charity and helping others. Since then, I have developed multiple campaigns to ensure someone's life is a little better. These have included helping those in war affected countries as well as orphans who live in countries who suffer from low economic backgrounds. My 'Help the Children from Bangladesh' campaign truly achieved this and it is something I am very much proud of. As well as this I truly believe that lawyers achieve systemic change because of their unique ability to ensure more equitable systems across society. Being part of pro-bono has made me understand the importance of a lawyer's relationship to their clients and why change is so vital for the world. I hope to start my training contract in September 2023, and I am very interested in pursuing family and immigration law as these areas of law really appeal to me as an empathetic individual who enjoys the interpersonal aspect of law.
